After relocating to Toms River from Winslow, Kyle played high school soccer at Toms River HS South, where he was named MVP of the Freshman team. He went on to become a three-year varsity player as a defender earning second team All Ocean County honors in 2008, his senior year.
He continued playing soccer at Centenary College (Hackettstown, NJ) , a Division III school in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. While at Centenary, he played mid and earned all CSAC (Colonial States Athletic Conference) Second Team honors. He also was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week (after scoring the game winning goal and one assist in a 3-2 double-overtime win over league titan Cabrini. The game-winning goal gave Cabrini their first conference loss in over a year, a 10-game stretch). Kyle also played goalie on the Centenary Men's Lacrosse team during the 2011 season).
In addition to playing collegiate soccer, Kyle also played defense for the semi-pro New Jersey Blaze during during the team's 2009 inaugural season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the Northeast Keystone Division.
While at Winslow, Kyle was on the Piranhas and the Rebels Travel Team ("coach" Steve Laverty).
